Summer brings with it a host of new hotels. Let’s check out the hotel openings for June 2014 which can only mean one thing: more rooms to check out and check into.
Ham Yard Hotel Soho London
Firmdale’s flagship and eighth property, Ham Yard Hotel, arrives in the heart of bustling Soho this June, just a few blocks from Mayfair. Revolving around a unique tree-filled garden, its centerpiece a specially commissioned bronze sculpture by Tony Cragg, Ham Yard boasts a distinctly urban village feel dreamt up by owners Tim and Kit Kemp.
Alongside the hotel's 91 individually designed bedrooms and suites are 24 residential apartments, 13 personally selected retail stores and an airy restaurant and bar with outdoor dining and drinking. There is a sumptuous drawing room and library as well as the Soholistic Spa and Gym, 188 seat theatre, several spacious private dining and event rooms including a 50s style bowling alley. Let’s not forget the rooftop garden with sweeping views of the London skyline.
Park Hyatt Vienna
This month the Austrian capital welcomes its first Park Hyatt property. Located in Vienna’s new Goldenes Quartier, overlooking Am Hof Square, Park Hyatt Vienna occupies a 100-year-old listed building that formerly served as the headquarters of a Bank, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. What is more a stay at this luxury hotel means you are only steps away from the celebrated fashion houses of Prada, Louis Vuitton and Emporio Amani and many more, as well as the boutiques of Kohlmarkt and within easy walking distance to the city’s most important sights, historic monuments and museums.
Featuring 143 spacious guestrooms, including 35 suites, Park Hyatt Vienna’s guestrooms are amongst the largest in the city, ranging in size from 35 sq m to 170 sq m, brilliantly combining contemporary style with local Viennese accents.
Guests can enjoy European regional cuisine at the historically restored hotel restaurant The Bank, featuring an open plan kitchen and serving locally sourced products from small villages around Vienna. Then there is the Living Room for cigar connoisseurs, the Pearl Bar for cocktail lovers, of Arany Spa for guests seeking relaxation and rejuvenation. Moreover, the luxury hotel hosts an extensive state-of-the-art fitness centre and guests can swim in the 15m pool located in the former vault of the bank.
Sheraton Resort & Spa, Tokoriki Island, Fiji
Taking you away from city hotels to exotic destinations this June is the Sheraton Resort & Spa Tokoriki Island in Fiji, set on a beautiful tropical island in the idyllic Mamanuca group where the pristine surroundings are complemented with world-class accommodation and amenities.
As well as a stunning beachfront location, guests will also enjoy the luxury of the resort’s extensive leisure facilities. The resort offers 101 guest rooms, retreats with private plunge pools, Tokoroki Retreat Spa and for couples who are tying the knot in an exotic destination wedding, a wedding chapel.
